Atlantic Croaker are a very popular saltwater fish. They provide good sport because of the fight they put up when hooked. You can use a dinghy or small boat close inshore because Atlantic Croaker are caught mostly around piers and jetties.
Bluefish need strong tackle and because they swim in large schools, can be caught in considerable numbers. Watch out for their sharp teeth when removing hooks. Try trolling, jigging, fly fishing or casting artificial lures to catch these exciting game fish.
Summer fishing for Sea Bass from May until early October can produce wonderful catches of this delicious tasting fish. Using squid for bait over rocky bottom , wrecks or reefs can prove most rewarding. Most are caught in depths of less than 75 feet. In the winter the Sea Bass usually move away into deeper offshore waters.
Spot fish are found usually around estuaries, bays and piers. Anglers using dinghies and small boats use small hooks with small baits of bloodworms, clam or shrimp. They are fun for all ages to catch.
